5 ways to increase traffic

"How to increase traffic in website?"

For online business owners and entrepreneurs, this is the holy grail.

"How do I rise above the rest and make those all-important sales?"

The problem most of my clients face is not how to set up a website, blog or even start an IG grid; it's about how to drive consistent traffic to their digital shopfront. SO where do you turn? What do you do?

How do you get "your" people to notice and find you!

Here is where I can help...

SEO

If you're not implementing SEO you're doing yourself a disservice.

SEO does not have to be painful. Trust me, if I can get a handle on the technical stuff so can you!

Anyone can learn the do and don'ts of  SEO, it really is necessary if you want to drive more traffic to your website.

SEO is not just about H1 and H2 tags - although these are important. SEO, thanks to some changes made by Google HQ a few years ago, is about creating good quality, easy to read content that can quite literally supercharge your results. on a consistent basis.

If you are a Wordpress user, make sure you install an SEO plugin like YOAST and include meaningful meta descriptions for any blog posts or pages you generate for your site.

Meta descriptions appear below the URL in search results - they are a great way of enticing viewers over to your website. They tell the viewer what the page is about and what will happen when they click on your website.

Social Sharing

Everyone knows that Instagram is a wildly popular platform for sharing and connecting.

Yet few people truly leverage Instagram to how to increase traffic in website. When you create new content, even if its an update to an existing page or blog post on your website, SHARE it across all your social media touchpoints.

Use relevant hashtags and consider sharing multiple times across your networks. This might be sharing twice the first week, once the second week, and then monthly after that. Test what frequency works for your audience and use it to drive your viewers to your website.

Email Marketing

While traffic it's self is fabulous to have, it will literally be useless if you're not capturing those people as leads to pop into your sales funnel and EDM lists, which will help you sell your products and services on autopilot.

Yes, I know it can be tough to email your customers or clients on a regular basis, but email remains the strongest method of communicating with your customers PLUS it has the highest conversion rate when compared to organic traffic and social media.

Include links to recent content pieces, new products, reviews and if you are in e-commerce, sale items or new pieces.

Email marketing is about consistency to try to create a format that you can easily replicate weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

Be sure that you have plenty of opportunities for your customers to join your mailing list on your website. Use opt-in boxes on blog posts or product pages, and add a feature area to your homepage.

Paid Advertising

It's hard to go past Paid Advertising for a quick way to push traffic to your website - but I do caution you to use paid advertising wisely or you can spend $$$ and see little results. Be sure to implement things like Facebook and Google tracking pixels to determine the effectiveness of your ad spend.

Other Paid Advertising options to consider are Google Adwords, YouTube, Instagram, or even banners on other websites that are relevant to your target market.

Check your Analytics

Understanding your analytics and checking them on a regular basis is key.

Make sure you have all your marketing tracking links installed (Eg: Facebook Pixel) and monitor the performance of your activities.

If a particular channel is not succeeding, drop it and double down on the areas that are working.

Use your analytics to help create your content strategies or future product plans.

What are people reading or responding too? Why?

I also suggest keeping an eye on your demographics!

Are the people viewing your website who you thought they were? For example, if your target market is ladies aged 25 to 35, but you notice a large portion of your viewers is perhaps age 60, is there an opportunity there for you?
